
Account Manager / Client Liaison (AoA)
Position Location: Herndon, VA
Overview/
This position is a hybrid position of an Account Manager and Client Liaison. He/She will operate as a day-to-day point person for both AoA and FDL. Candidate should have a strong understanding of the client's business and be able to act as an extension to their marketing department. Strong skills in project management and the ability to operate within the AoA environment to build relationships and instill trust in reliability from the client are paramount. In this role, the individual will facilitate day-to-day coordination of approvals/reviews between client and FDL. In addition, he/she will also think and act strategically on behalf of the client. It is expected this role will assist in the coordination of both Brand Collateral and Online Initiatives. This person will report to the Account Directors. Note that this position is located in Herndon, VA.
Major Responsibilities and Duties/
- Guide projects/approvals through AoA
- Gain copy approval and feedback from key internal departments within AoA
- Coordinate meetings between client stake holders and FDL
- Assist the AoA online Marketing Manager with day-to-day stewardship of projects and timelines
- Act as liaison for FDL and foster client relationships
- Monitor and help maintain FDL production schedules
- Solicit and understand client feedback on all jobs and communicate and/or generate work orders accordingly with FDL
- Assist in gathering assets and background information for new business pitches and existing projects where applicable
- Review and craft conference reports when needed
- Demonstrate clear and effective communications when dealing with both internal staff and clients
- Determine strategies and messaging for projects and campaigns with Director
- Attend roundtables + product launch meetings with client as necessary
- Attend + prep client for creative reviews twice weekly
- Route scope of work and spend approval forms throughout AoA system
- Submit invoices to Account Payable as they come through from FDL
- Work closely with product planners to ensure product correctness on all configurators, websites and catalogs/pre launch and teaser pieces
Requirements/
- Overall interactive knowledge + experience, flash and HTML. Understand the intricacies of process and requirements of what it takes to design, build, and launch a website
- Importance/understanding of information architecture
- Fundamental understanding of flash as an application
- Basic interactive verbiage
- Understanding of how design and production work together and the importance of communicating to everyone on the team
- Basic understanding of traditional process
- Experience with working with production managers for print and broadcast
- 2+ years of agency and client management experience
- Degree in related field
- Ability to travel (approximately 10% of time)
- Ability to participate in training program of 2-4 weeks in Denver, CO and Detroit, MI
